This is my entry for The Rookies 2022 Contest. this is my first ever rookies contest entry. My goal is to be an environment generalist for Film and TV as I love to Layout, Compose, Scatter, Shade, Light, and render complete scenes!

THE AMERICAN DINER

I started it as a personal challenge to push my abilities, to improve my Lighting and shading workflows. Everything was modeled, textured, shaded, and lit by me except for some small assets from Megascans. This scene was made in Maya and rendered with V-Ray 5. I used Substance Painter for texturing and Mixer for the asphalt material. Most of the heavy lifting of the scene was done by shading and lighting.

PROJECT BALOD

Worked on the urban Indian street Environment along with 2 of my friends. the challenge we took on was to light and render the scene in real-time using the power of Unreal Engine. I was mainly responsible for texturing of assets, some buildings for which I used Substance Painter, and the look and lighting of the scene using the powerful lighting and volumetric toolsets in unreal engine.

THE ARABIAN SANDS

Created this Vast desert scene while learning the incredible heightfields toolset in Houdini. Rendered in Arnold and textures are from Quixel. I used several different methods including adaptive displacements, and mixing of many procedural noises, to create the dunes which were really fun. took me 1 day to complete the scene but the result came out quite nice for the work done. the sky, sun, and a final grade were given in Nuke.

REVENGE

Made this Full CG scene for Project Balod. I was responsible for everything except modeling the character base. Pyro was Simulated in Houdini and the scene was shaded and rendered with Arnold and Maya. the main challenge was a realistic scattering of vegetation which was achieved with Mash in Maya. The cloth was created and simulated in Marvelous Designer and the hair was groomed with Xgen. I tried to combine a lot of different knowledge together to make an environment.
