Concept Art and Illustration 2022
A handful of my character concept art and illustration pieces Ive completed over the last year.
This years entry is an amalgamation of work I've created over the past year or so for either uni or self development purposes. My main focus for this year was to develop stronger characters, improve my illustration skills and hone in on a style I love! I hope you enjoy seeing my projects and the process behind some of the final pieces.
PORTRAIT ILLUSTRATIONS
CONCEPT ART: ASSASSINS CREED DYNASTY
'Assassins Creed: Dynasty' is a personal project which I completed in 2022. This is a concept for a main game in the assassins creed franchise which explores the fall of ancient Shang Dynasty and the introduction of the Heavens mandate during roughly 1046BC. All concepts were designed with historical accuracy in mind.
CONCEPT ART: 'FRANK AND VICTOR'
This charming duo came from an open university brief to redesign an element of Mary Shelly's cult favourite 'Frankenstein'. I imagined these two being at the forefront of a 2D animated cartoon which challenges societal norms and encourages individuality.
CONCEPT ART: SHE LIES BENEATH
This illustration/Character design I completed as an exercise in restraint. I had a limited time frame to produce this piece as well as a limited brief to create a 'horror/dark' design.
ILLUSTRATION PIECE: DEPTHS OF THE CATACOMBS
An illustration in which I explored and reimagined Lamia from Greek Mythology. Lamia was a monster in the form of a woman who ate people's children because her own had been stolen away in a cruel act of jealousy.
