Arnold Schwarzenegger T-800 Game-ready Character
This is a project I have completed for my Final Year Project at Staffordshire University as part of my BSc (Hons) Computer Games Design Degree. The aim of the project was to create a game-ready character using Arnold's likeness as the T-800 in Terminator 2: Judgement Day, following a PBR workflow.
This project was completed for my Final Year Project for my BSc (Hons) Computer Games Design Degree at Staffordshire University. The aim of the project was to create a game-ready character of Arnold Schwarzenegger as the T-800 from Terminator 2: Judgement Day, following a PBR workflow. Packages that I used throughout this project were Zbrush, Marvelous Designer, Texturing XYZ-Mari, 3DS Max, Substance 3D Designer, Substance 3D Painter, Marmoset Toolbag 4 and Photoshop.
Above, shows the process from start to finish at different stages throughout the project. I began by creating the high poly of Arnold in Zbrush. The skin details were carried out using the Texturing XYZ to Mari workflow to allow me to apply the RGB displacement channels of the XYZ Maps as individual layers in Zbrush. Further skin details were added by hand to give more variation and breakup. I then moved on to creating the main base of the clothing Marvelous Designer before bringing it back in to Zbrush for cleanup and to add finer details. After carrying out the retopology in 3DS Max and unwrapping, texture bakes were generated in Substance 3D Designer and ultimately texturing in Substance 3D Painter. The final presentation renders were done in Marmoset Toolbag 4 and final compositional changes added in Photoshop.
The two poses above were done inside 3DS Max following the skin and rig of the character and finally the turntables added in Marmoset.
