3D Environment - The Pillars of the Earth

This is my end-of-year project after 2 years of study at New3dge. The goal of this project was to challenge myself on an outdoor environment and create it from a concept art that allows a large scope for interpretation.
3D reproduction of an environment of The Pillars of the Earth
The original concept art that I recreated is made by Florian Herold for the game "The Pillars of the Earth" by Daedalic Entertainment. One of the main challenges on this project was to create an environment with realistic proportions without losing the composition of the original painting. I learned a lot during this project especially on how to deal with large scale terrains and scattering techniques with Forest Pack.

I took a lot of time to do variations on the textures of the wood to give it maximum interest. The thatched roofs are also made using Forest pack. I made different bunches of straw that I scattered on low poly modules.
