A Character a Day

I created a character everyday for 7 days. I know it's not that impressive, but I learnt a lot along the way and I thought it was worth sharing. Websites used: https://www.character-generator.org.uk/profile/ https://www.conceptstart.net/character-design-generator-idea-prompt

For this project I created a character a day for 7 days.

I really wanted to hone my skills and push myself in character creation / concept, so I started generating random character prompts using a website to give me the basic details off which to create my characters from. This is the website I used:    https://www.conceptstart.net/character-design-generator-idea-prompt

To start this project i felt that i needed to do some studies to really understand lighting and mood, so i did a Cape Fear (Image 1) and a Breaking Bad (Image 2) study.

My first original character, the 'Sleepless Demon', is a sleep Paralysis demon who's horns pull up his eye lids :)

My second character is 'The Fisherman', yep, just a weird looking fisherman

For the third character I wanted a more elaborate pose, a more situational / expressive one. This is a sad troll with a broken glaive.

Fourth character is a Moose Man. This one I wanted to try incorporating anthropomorphic characters, although its not a full character I think this taught me a lot about subtle colour variations.

For the fifth character I wanted a more expressive piece. This is a bored goblin girl with gauntlets. i feel at this point my brush work is really coming together.

The sixth character, 'Toughie the Tough Guy'. This one I used to practice skin tone.

For this final character (Reginald Pigeon) I wanted to try something new, I used Meta Human Creator to create a base character design for me to work off of.

Reginald came out pretty good, I think it has a lot more of a style to it compare to the others, but that works for me as I do want to develop more of a unique style in my work

Overall, this project I set myself really showed me how much I can learn and grow in a short time period. I went through different styles, techniques and processes to really perfect my craft and broaden my knowledge.
