The perfect patriarch

In the 1960s, Niki de Saint Phalle revolutionized art with her performance "Tirs", which exposes the problems of the patriarchal world she's living in. The young woman shot with a shotgun on statues she made, as a form of catharsis and it was a very shocking act at that time. She wanted to kill that idea of a woman's role in society.

As that performance really inspired me, I wanted to pay tribute to Niki de Saint Phalle by creating my own version of a patriarchal statue, showing a strong, leading man surrounded by women who serve him. There's a mother, a cleaning lady, a sexualized figure, a married woman and a cook, five representative functions of a woman in a patriarchal society.
