Domestic Diorama.
This project critiques stereotypical female environments to disrupt the domestic space, questioning the nature of fashion and artifice
Constructed garments are reworked into impractical pieces. The work encourages women to question the associated links between active clothing and the act of being oppressed.
Creating QR codes allows the audience to become participates of my work. Scan codes to reveal characters.
The domestic space, which in this case is the doll’s house, is important to this project since it reinforced the understanding of the recurring patriarchal notions that are practised in the household.
The house was scanned and reworked in Blender to create the inside environments that align with the outfits that I designed. I got the opportunity to get this object 3D printed into a tangible piece. Using Artec 3D scanning technology in order to get the best detailing allowed my work to become elevated and the audience to see the piece in physical form.
