Motion Graphics Course Work

The following 2 projects were created during my 2 year motion graphics course with Belfast Metropolitan College.

The first project was my first time doing the majourity of the processes when creating my little robot character within a semester. The Blob character was created over a full year.

Robo Dude

My task was to find footage online and create a robot character for me to impliment within the footage. As I had limited time I was taught a "mashup" technique to design my character quickly using already exsisting designs of robots found online. This helped speed up my work as well as learn from existing work that already was to a high standard.

Blob Creature

For this project my task was to integrate a stylised character into footage I was given. It was also a group project that we voted on different aspects of the style and look of the project. Our theme was urban legends. The urban legend I decided to stylise was Big Foot. The brief was also to advertise the Nike Air Max shoe.

Meshroom Geometry & Lighting Setups

Creating Geometry in Meshroom with the given footage in order to position my character properly within my Maya scene before adding a tracked camera from After Effects. Also adding an HDRI image for the skatepark scene to light the scene, with the underground scene being lit with lights I have created and matched to the real world environment.

Final Sequence

Overall I am pleased with the outcome of my two projects given it was my first time doing some of the processes.

Thank you for taking the time to view my work!
