Rookies contest 2022 Entry

This project intended to expand upon David Peterson's Mouse Guard series where a pond based village is raided by a barbaric mice faction and two main characters in the focal point standing down to defend it. Below I have included thumbnails for what I envisioned the village to look like. 

The next project is a DnD based project where I tried to bring to life a DnD themed world. The main focus of this project is a scene of a cliffside river where a funeral is taking place.

This third keyframe piece is inspired by the story of Beren and Lúthien from J.R.R Tolkien's 'The Silmarillion'. In this piece I wanted to capture the romantic atmosphere in both the forest of Neldoreth and between the two characters that Tolkien described in the book.

Lastly, here are some photo and movie still studies in order to understand the colour choices used in each scene and the overall composition. Throughout my work below, I focused on studying the rule of thirds, and incorporating balance, scale, negative space, angular versus curved and order versus chaos.
