Hello, my name is Darcy, I am currently in my last year of master at the Artline Institute. For this year, my projects have been focused on the character artist profession, the profession in the 3D field where I wish to specialize in the professional world. For that, I experimented several styles and techniques, from stylized cartoon to realism through hardsurface. I invite you to look at my work and give your opinion if you wish, I am open to criticism, I still have a lot to learn.

For this first project I present you Winnie. It's a concept of Anna Cattish that I took and I realized in 3D. This is my first stylized character project, it was a very nice surprise, I really enjoyed working on it. I realized that it was quite difficult to make stylized characters.

For this project, I made the sculpture on Zbrush, the retopo of the Maya, the texture is made in polypaint and the rendering was made on Keyshot.

My next project is XR-3. It is a concept by Mustafa Lamrani. This project in hardsurface, was a real challenge for me because I'm a little more used to realize organic projects. And this is for real-time.

Pour celle-ci, j’ai principalement travaillé sur Maya (le modelling, retopo, dépliage UV, posing), la texture à était fait avec Substance painter, et le rendu en temps réel sur Marmoset.

I also did a small rendering on Unreal Engine 5, and the grade was made with Davinci resolve.

This time it's about realism. I particularly like realistic portrait projects and especially those of Ian Spriggs, I like his philosophy of making portraits of people who are close to us because the image reflects what is inside, and according to him, to make a hyper realistic portrait of a person, you must first know him. Like his project, I wanted to make a portrait of my girlfriend, certainly the person closest to me.

For this project I made my sculpture on Zbrush, I redid the retopo and the UV unfolding on maya, the texture on substance painter, the clothes on Marvelous, the groom on Xgen, and the rendering with Arnold. The compositing and grade was made with photoshop and lightroom

And finally I share with you some of the sculpture and concept study projects I've done over the course of this year.

For this first one it was an exercise to imagine "Le petit prince" in 2021. Some concepts are based on the artist Alfred Achiampong and others inspired and I mixed with my own ideas. This time, everything was done with Zbrush and Photoshop. 

This next project is a quick grooming exercise with Xgen where I wanted to learn about the software. It is a small concept of a cute baby panda. I made the sculpture on Zbrush, then the retopo and UV unfolding on maya with an arnold rendering and some compositing on photoshop. 

This one is a Zbrush concept of a chameleon warrior man, it's definitely the project I'm dragging out the most. Originally it was a naked lizard man, I wanted to make a creature and at the same time work on my anatomy. Then, for a CFX exercise at school, I dressed him up and tried to do some simulation with him.
