Joey's Animation
1. Parkour
This is a body mechanics piece where we had to stitch together different references and try to create a sequence. I decided to have some fun with it by throwing in a little bit of spiderman flair.
2. Hammer lift
It is also a body mechanics shot where the main focus is to animate a character lifting something heavy. I decided to make the character fall as I thought it would be more fun and appealing to animate a failed lift than a successful lift and also have the hammer fall back and hit him for that extra bit of "cartoony" comedy.
3. Pantomime
When we were given our brief to do a pantomime shot, I knew I wanted to do something comical so I spent some time thinking of an idea and pushed it as far as I could take it. The funny thing was that the original idea I had after Malcom drank the potion was different and it was a classmate of mine who walked over, checked out my animation when he casually gave the suggestion of turning Malcom into a llama like in the show "the emperor's new groove". I thought it was a great idea and decided to change my animation. I went hunting for a suitable rig and landed upon the "Chameleon Cartoony Rig" by Truong which seemed like a great fit. It was a ton of fun animating this piece and even more so watching the reaction of my peers, I hope you enjoyed this piece as much as I had fun animating it.
