WET

A lady attempts to seduce her masseur, leading them both into a maze of sensation, flesh, and steam.

With this student project, a more adult animation movie, we wanted to create a sensual and mesmerising atmosphere. We decided to cut off any judgment on the characters and their behaviour, to focus our sight and the spectators on their voluptuous shapes and dreamlike adventure. The will for a more mature approach to animation was what led us to create WET, a sensorial and epidermal experience.

All the technical process was thought to match our goal.

Our characters are round shapes with a smooth skin shading to induce a strong urge to touch them, to squeeze them.

The dramatic light was used to help the spectator follow the action and to understand our characters better.

We worked on a rig that freed us to create perfect shapes in each frame, coupled with the plugIn Ziva Dynamics which allowed an even more squishy rendering.

We chose to make the rendering of the water and smoke dreamlike to be still in harmony with the general shading of the movie.
