Circle Dining Chair

// INTRO

I’m very happy to present my final exam project of my education within 3D Graphics (multimedia animator). This is a 5-week intense project and it’s a fictive product video inspired by a Danish furniture company called Overgaard & Dyrman. The hero object is, as shown, the Circle Dining Chair by Overgaard & Dyrman.

The entire project is made by myself to show case what I’ve learned the passed 3 years within 3D graphics. I’ve spent a whole week with only making up the concept and prework (mood-barding, previz, timeline etc.) and then 4 weeks of modelling, texturizing, animating and post processing. (Some smaller assets of the workshop are downloaded).

My main focus of this project is to emphasize the craftmanship of the Circle Dining Chair and to give my view on how a product video could turn out by only using CGI. It’s been a fun and challenging project – I hope you like it 😉

Lighting

 have worked a lot with the overall lighting in this project and in some of the scenes I've made these light beams to boost the atmosphere.

I've used a motion mask (Texture Supply) to make the movements of the light.

To have full control of the lighting I've made a separate light pass which I then tweeked in After Effects.

The leather pieces and the apron on the chair I've simulated in Marvelous Designer

To also catch the craftsman atmosphere i've spent a great deal on the environment in the workshop.
