This title sequence is a tribute to the kitchen sink sci-fi paintings by Simon Stålenhag. It draws out the eerie feeling in the all-too mundane institution of Granhammar, and the secrets that lie beneath.

This title sequence is a tribute to the kitchen sink sci-fi paintings by Simon Stålenhag. It draws out the eerie feeling in the all-too mundane institution of Granhammar, and the secrets that lie beneath.

These styleframes helped define the progression and overall color scheme of the film to ensure that it felt cohesive.

This is one of the ways I faked water to get faster iteration times for my shots.

This project was created over the span of a month as an elective project at the Animation Workshop. My goals for this project were to develop my sense for design and cinematography, and to dive deep into Houdini as a production tool.

I learned a lot about working with cameras, and I learned to produce assets for specific shots in a way that saves a lot of time. The same thing is true for simulations, as I did not have access to a render farm, I had to make sure my setups were fast and efficient so I could iterate on them very quickly.

Thanks to:

Andrew Lowell - Supervising Teacher

Simon Stålenhag - Creator of the IP this is based on

Morten Rasmussen and TAW - For organizing the course

Emma Bielekostolská - for her support and feedback
