Round of applause for our sponsors

Hello ! This is the first character of my third year at the SAE Institute of Geneva in the character art specilization. I had the opportunity to choose my projects for this final year so I decided to firstly redo a character that I love: The great warchief of the True Horde, Garrosh Hellscream ! I have decided to create him in first because it would required different skills and techniques to finish him. And I would go further with them in my next projects.

The character was modeled and sculpted in Zbrush, Uv in Maya, textured in Substance Painter and rendered in Marmoset Toolbag.

You can find at the end a small glimse at my puref with the main references for this project !

Here is three differents version: in Marmoset and textured, in Marmoset but only grey and in Zbrush.

I also 3D Print stuff for about one year now so I really wanted to print those projects ! I will share the results here but unfortunately I didn't find the time to paint them for now.

Those are all my main inspirations for this character, the design and pose were based on the work of Wei Wang and Pansup Kim. I tried to mix the Garrosh of the "Warlords of Draenor Trailer" with the style of "Weta" in the movie "Warcraft".

The second project is Master Chief ! Here, I wanted to push my hardsurface skill further than for Garrosh so he was the perfect challenge. And to add some difficulty I decide to use Zbrush for the maximum of the modeling and only use 3DS Max or Maya when I had no other choices.

In this task, I was greatly help by the shared knowledge of three artists: Marco Plouffe, Henry Chervenka and Breki Thor. I am really happy to push myself into this challenge because I learned a lot and discovered some really useful tricks !

He was sculpted and modeled in Zbrush, I used Maya for the UVs, Substance Painter for the textures and Marmoset Toolbag for the renders.

This second take was done for a contest by the artist J Hill. The theme was Hard Surface and Love, I was working on the hard surface and I thought that it would be funny to add some Love ! Here is the Spartan Love !

And of course, I 3D Printed him ! But this time it is for a friend of mine who is a huge fan of the saga Halo. I will have to paint the Chief and I will have the pleasure to give it to my friend.

My inspiration for this project are mainly the work done for Halo Infinite by Kolby Jukes, Omid Moradi and Lyaksandr Prelle-Tworek. I also find the model done for Fortnite really helpful to better understand some pieces.

And the last completed projects: Batman Hush ! After a project completely Hard Surface, what better idea that to do the exact opposite ? A fully organic project ! I trained my anatomical skills and learn to better understand the human body.

This project is based on the work of Jim Lee for the comics "Batman Hush" but I tried to do it in the style of the games "Batman Arkham Knight" by Rocksteady Studios.

First: textured and rendered in Marmoset, second: untextured and rendered in Marmoset and third: rendered in Zbrush.

Unfortunately, Batman is not printed yet, but I will definitely print him !

For the references, I really wanted to use the design by Jim Lee for the Batman Hush Comics and give it the art direction of Rocksteady Studios for the Games "Batman Arkham Knight". I was also greatly inspired by the work of Wandah Kurniawan and Rodrigue Pralier for Prime1 Studios.

To close my submission, I present you my actual Demo Reel.

Thank you for the time you took to read and watch my work, I hope you enjoyed it !
