Warrior of the shadows

Statement:

Years ago, when I was 7 or 8, there was a magazine which has been publishing named ‘scientist’. At that time there wasn’t the internet yet. so, magazines like that were the only sources of new and colorful images. In the ‘scientist’ magazine they introduce native tribes of different countries all around the world and explained about their culture monthly. Always, there were some photos attached which choose from National Geography archive. Since then on, I’ve got impressed by native tribes. Strange people with special instruments and makeups gazing at the camera.

Years later, I find myself more interested about the ancient cultures all spread around the world. I realized that there are sophisticated ideologies behind their painted face and decorated body with bones and feathers. no difference if they were American or African or Asian or European. They all conceal their “fear” behind their colorful and strange makeups. The Fear of nature’s anger or the fear of failure in the battle with the hunts. This is something that got my attention. We as a human being have lots of fears and if we weren’t gifted with our sophisticated minds there was not any civilized nation created yet.

During the time of participating in this challenge and making a Native American, I’ve got more involved with the idea of the human being’s ‘fear’. I tried to show that in this character. I didn’t want to create something without a soul. I wanted to show a person who is from the Sauk tribe as a Native American. The people who respect nature and wouldn’t over-hunt if they weren’t in desperate need. They don’t pollute the earth and don’t invade other territories unless they were attacked. Although they do anything when they were violated. The character is not someone brutal like some characters in unvalued movies. That is someone like "the last Mohican".

The man who fought for his tribe and killed his enemies for the survival of his family while not filling with any madness. Now he is unleashed from his fear and like an arrow sits on the chest of his enemies...

He is the warrior of the shadows...
