Adhara : the city of the old ones
Concept art project about an ancient city and its secrects.
Adhara is a personal project I've been working on for a few months.
I wanted to explore the idea of a ruined city lost in the sea, discovered by a lonely traveler.
The city has a strong connection to the arcane forces thanks to the eyes of the old ones that periodically fall from the sky in this region. The scholars of Adhara used the eyes as a source of power and knowledge and built many devices with them.
These same eyes may be the cause of the sudden disappearance of the inhabitants many ages ago...
Inside the main building that acted as a temple, the first eye ever found was studied and worshipped.
The armillary sphere was used to contain its power, but if you get too close to it your mind might get flooded by ancient secrets...
The eye sentinels are golems built and programmed with the power of the eyes, that protect the city from intruders.
The base form resembles spider-like creature with three legs, very agile but weak. However it can connect its body to a humanoid extension, becoming much more powerfull and tough.
