Pawn Storm
This piece was the final project for my generalist course at Trazos. Learning the multiple processes to create the video by myself was a beautiful challenge. The character was animated with motion capture and some physics can be seen on the clothes, the breaking bottle, and the subtle smoke in the fireplace.
Pawn Storm’s set has been inspired by one of the scenes of Stanley Kubrick’s film Barry Lyndon. In this sequence, the main character is sleeping after a party when he is woken up by someone bringing important news. I took some elements from this dreamy and pictorial atmosphere to build an anachronic dystopia. The short film shows a decadent afterparty where a naughty robot becomes unruly.

The character was animated with motion capture and some physics can be seen on the clothes, the breaking bottle, and the subtle smoke in the fireplace. The whole scene was modelled and textured by myself; however, I added some readymade props: a brioche, a plastic chair, and the woods.
