Valley of Swords

Valley of Swords is inspired by Berserk, Adventure Time and Hyper Light Drifter. I wanted to create a desert with really big swords to push myself with scale and story telling. This scene is about gods that clashed in battle long ago. After a century these gods are now relics of the past. Humans have populated the land and travel through the desert.

I created a value painting of my sketch but I felt like my perspective was off and therefor worked in blender to create a base image to help.

World Tree

This is direct inspiration from Norse mythology. The tree Yggdrasil is a big part of Norse faith and I wanted to interpret how the tree stretches out over Earth (Midgard) by making the branches into Aurora lights. The Auroras are a very enchanting sight which I thought fit well with the sacred tree of Yggdrasil.

In this piece I struggled with the camera angle. I wanted to get a shot where you could see the top of the tree stretching out across the horizon. Moving forward I need to practice how I compose a painting with the camera angle in mind and explore more options to find the right fit for my work.

Lizard Man

Practice with painting over a Zbrush model. The model was provided by CG Spectrum.

A few prop designs for a post apocalyptic type game. From left to right we have a surveillance tower made from an old water tower. Next is a light pole outfitted with radio frequency receivers. And last is an old rusty bench.
