Game & Environment Art by Paulien Wygaerden
As a 3D artist I love creating environment art and props, both realistic and stylized. I hope you enjoy my work.
Deep in the ocean
As an assignment for school I made this diorama in Zbrush. We first had to make a photobash of various concepts found online. After making a blockout in 3dsMax, I sculpted every detail and poly-painted it in Zbrush using the photobash as a reference.
Ruins in a forest
An assignment for Level Decoration based around composition and lighting. It's a 3D scene built in the Unreal Engine, using realtime rendering, with assets from the Unreal Marketplace and materials from Substance Share.
Low Poly Jungle
For a group project where I was in charge of creating the jungle level for a game, I made the 3D models such as trees, foliage, flowers, Mayan architecture and various traps in 3dsMax that I then used to create the jungle mountain level.
Mountaintop Hotel
This concept was created for the course of Stylized Design, the idea that I came up with is that of an old repair post that was later turned into a hotel. I started out by making several sketches and then refined my favorite one in Photoshop.
Lewis Gun
This is a game ready asset that I made following the high-poly to low-poly workflow. I used 3dsMax and Zbrush to model the high and low poly versions of the gun and I then textured it using Substance Painter.
Old ribbon microphone
This is a game ready asset made with the same workflow as above. High-poly to low-poly, modelled with 3dsMax and Zbrush and textured using Substance Painter.
