The Dark Crown

The Dark Crown is one of IP's I did while studying in The One Academy. The Dark Crown is about A princess who was sentenced to exile for practising dark magic returns with her half brother and an army of the undead to fight back for her throne.

Painting illustrations keeps me moving forward. 

I fell in love with the initial process of starting an illustration. When the color mood sings through the thumbnail sketch got me motivated to finish the artwork. 

Six of Crows

The next IP I did was based on a book called 'Six of Crows',  where a group of teenagers set of on an impossible heist to the Ice Court to steal a drug that controls a powerful group of beings called Grisha.

I was inspired after reading the book to show how I imagined the characters and the environment be in my mind. Though the story is taken place in modern Victorian setting, I decided to push the era back to fit the fantasy elements of the story.

I also did a 3D model of Kaz using Zbrush.

For the environment, I wanted to show the group on the rooftops overlooking the city Ketterdam. Though it is said that Ketterdam is similar to Amsterdam, I felt that I was not as how I imagined it would be as the canals are narrow. So I used Venice, Italy as a reference to the city as it is more open to the ocean and has beautiful architectures.

I did an interior shot of Kaz's office as well.
