Beginning To Grow
My goal is to grow. Grow my knowledge, my skills and abilities, and to never stop that growth. This is what I've accomplished as a fist year student at YRGO and I'm excited for the future.
Background
I have always loved creating stuff, but it was in high school that i found my passion for Architectural visualization. I just barely managed to get into the Architecture Visualisation programme at YRGO at the last minute so it was a rough start to say the least. But I’m so glad I did. Now after this first year I’m able to put my work out there and see if I’m actually any good!
The CARGO Building
This was my first image working on a large-scale project. With that we also got to collaborate with a large company to show us how it feels to work on a real project. We were provided with the modeled building, low ploy context and documents describing lighting situations and materials.
So in this image I wanted to create a moody feeling and embrace the wonderful London weather.
Some assets were downloaded, all textures modified Software: 3Ds Max, Corona, Forest Pack, SiNi Software, Photoshop, Paralax
Refurbish
This was our second project in the course and the goal was to refurbish an apartment or house that we could find for sale. Partly modeled, partly assets but everything was retextured/modified.
Software: 3Ds Max, Corona, Photoshop
Here are some pictures of the existing apartment and the (very not) accurate floor plan.
Villa Viken
With the chirping of birds and the smell of pine trees, in this project we got to build a scene from plan drawings that were provided. The goal was to make the present the house in an attractive way.
In conjunction with this project we got introduced to some new tools such as Forest pack, Railclone and V-ray that were all very useful in the making of this image.
Most of the assets were downloaded except for the house. Software: 3ds Max, V-ray, Megascans, Forest Pack, RailClone, Photoshop
Valet Chair
Being our first time modeling something from scratch, our goal was to model a designer chair of our choosing and produce a high quality image. The Valet Chair’s shape and materials seemed to provide a good enough challenge. Everything from model to environment was made from scratch.
Software: 3Ds Max, Corona, Photoshop
Yellowstone
The introduction to this project was to design a hotel. The hotel was to be designed based on a specific location provided to us. As this was a group project, we got to decide which space in the hotel each of us did.
We decided to stray away from the already existing log cabin style in the area. So we went for a more modern twist that still keeps you close to the Yellowstone nature while inside. Some assets downloaded, but all textures changed/modified
Software: 3Ds Max, Corona, Photoshop
Bonus: Icey Weather
To focus on our photoshop skills we got to do a matte painting project spanning over 3 days. We started with a very simple building modeled and rendered in 3Ds Max and the rest was made by finding and merging the right images to create the right setting and mood.
Software: 3Ds Max, Photoshop
That's it!
Thank you so much for making it all the way through this entry. I’m so grateful for my time here at YRGO and for everything I've gotten to learn and I’m so excited for what the future holds.
