Here are some of my favourite 3D creatures I have created during my studies at Flinders University/CDW Studios.

Giant from Hell

My cyclops demon creature. This was one of the first 3D creatures I’ve made, which really got me into 3D creature design. Inspired by urban legend creatures like Slenderman and Siren head, I created this cyclops as a brute demon for games, bringing fear into players with its clown like appearance, size and number of teeth.

Finalising

I had captured the angle which worked best and went to photoshop to finalise and correct colours and eyes.

I had made this creature while traveling with my family. I had taken a photo of the corner of a building and the idea of a massive creature reaching towards you over this building had hit me. I later took that image and drew the creature over it, getting my idea across on paper.

The Trickster

My 3D creature of a clown/pig like mutant creature, inspired by games Dark Deception by Glowstick Entertainment and Porkchop’s Adventure by Phisnom. I wanted to create a creature that would terrify players with its creepy unsettling aura. This creature, with is massive smile and small eyes piercing into the soul, is great in an indie horror survival game.

Finalising

When I completed the model, I had transferred the file to photoing to finalise the colour, the background and eyes. This is where I had changed the head to be tilted for the finalised product to create a creepy and natural look for this creature.

I was watching game play of Dark Deception and the idea of this creature had hit me, the idea of this creature looking around the corner at the player with its massive smile and creepy eyes had terrified me, so why not create it into a reality.

Goblin from Underground

My 3D goblin creature, created for use of fantasy horror. This was the first 3D creature I had made, and it was an interesting character to create. With its history of it dwelling and living in darkness, I designed it with no eyes but rather a crocodile skull burned onto it head, bigger ears to hear better and a jaw filled with bigger, sharper teeth.

Finalising

Transferring the file to photoshop and rendering, I had correct the colour and lighting as well as add drool dripping from the tongue.

Zbrush Model

I had changed a lot from the original design to the final, the crystals which I had thought was a good idea for light ended up not working, and the burn mark was repeatedly change to fit the creature.

Sketch

I had to design a creature which lived in a cave, so the idea of an eyeless creature seemed perfect, sight something it didn't need since living in the dark. A goblin character had pop up which was what I followed.
