Hello, my entrie is composed of my best work from this school year (2021-2022). I made the samurai especially for the contest, it's my latest work. I hope you like it ^^

This is my last personal project that I did especially for the contest. I'm really satisfied with the result. The samurai is based on a concept from the artist Hua Lu

There is displacement on nearly every object, it really helped making the ropes, as they are just simple tubes. I often mixed two displacement maps in maya, one coming from zbrush, and the second one coming from substance painter, because the scratches were done in substance painter for example.

My high poly mesh in Zbrush has 180 million polygons, I could make the last details thanks to the HD geometry fonction.

I made a rig so that I could put him into different positions. I used the advanced skeleton plugin in maya, wich greatly speed up the process. Below you can see my maya scene for the main render.

I learned a lot of things with this project, like xgen in maya, marvelous designer or light principles. I feel there still is a lot to learn and to improve. I lack in experience with sculpting non organic things like cloth or armors and I really need to learn more things about marvelous designer and Xgen because i struggled a lot with it.

This is a school project, done in september 2021. We needed to make an interior scene.

The next project was made in December 2021, we needed to make a modular space ship in Unreal engine 4.

I made every object in Maya, and did the texturing in Substance Painter.

The hardest part was to make everythig match because it needed to be modular, so we needed to build it directly inside the Unreal engine. I learned a lot whith this project and I discovered many things about Unreal.

In this order: base color; metalness; roughness; ambient oclusion; wireframe

The katana is a personal project originaly created for another samurai i started. I tried to make it as close as possible like a real traditional katana.

Textures are done in Substance painter and modeling in Maya.

The last project is Jane Porter as a huntres. We needed to take a disney character and to change it's gender or character. I chose Jane porter from Tarzan, and made her a hunter as if she was going to hunt down Tarzan.
