Sounds of Color

It is an interactive installation that presents Synesthesia, a condition where one experiences one of their senses through another. In this case, this interactive installation captures colors and responses with visual and audio in real time. This work is designed with the idea of allowing people to experience what it (Synesthesia) is.

Technology

The installation uses a projector/LED screen, speakers and a camera. The camera is there to capture the information needed while the projector/LED screen and speakers returns a feedback based on the information given by the camera's input. This results in a dynamic, interesting and fun approach towards understanding Synesthesia while creating a unique piece of art work.

Application

This art work can be displayed in public spaces that reacts and interacts with the passersby in a fun and interactive way. A camera installed on top of the art work will track the colors in the surrounding and respond with the color it has captured back on the screen. Participants can move around to trigger the art piece with the colors they have on them and different music notes would play based on what color is being captured. This art can be interacted individually or in a group. It uses colors and sounds to enhance the qualities of monotony city life.
