Georgi - Concept Art & Illustration 2022

In the beginning, I always find it really hard to decide on what I want to go for. By researching, browsing for many different references, and doodling, I'm able to get myself going.

By really exploring with a wide variety of possibilities, I was able to see what worked and what didn't. This also allowed me to just keep rolling with the ideas by combining and stitching the things I liked together!

I ended up with thumbnail #7 for the girl and #27 for the robot. Through the process I continue to adjust them, and try to take things from the other ideas to incorporate them.

Once I got to these sketches, I decided to go with the look of the left one. I really liked the farm girl's tough, cold appearance. With the robot, I enjoyed the chaps and boots. I think It gives them a more personal touch.

I do end up combing the two robot ideations, as I liked the train look the one on the right had going for it.

This project made me realize how much planning, research and work goes into something like this. It was tough, but I'm proud of what I was able to do!! Looking forward to sharing a lot more work next year!
