About the Project
Our goal was to tell a story by integrating a CG bear into a real environment. The bear was sculpted in ZBrush, animated in Maya, the groom and render was done in Houdini and the shots were comped in Nuke. The full short has not yet been officially released, so it is private for judge's at the moment.
The Shoot
We shot the film in the 'Concertgebouw' of Amsterdam. The CGi character had to be believable in the live action environment. In addition, it had to interact with the piano on set. We created a 3D paino so that the keys would move in tandem with the music that was composed.
