Abandoned Teenage Bedroom
This scene was heavily inspired by a concept from "The Last of Us" by John Sweeney and story-driven games like the "Life is Strange" franchise.
This environment was heavily inspired by a concept piece from "The Last of Us" by John Sweeney. What I loved most about this concept art was the colours, mood, storytelling and lighting in the shot. I used this as a starting point to then create my own, unique bedroom.
My goal for this project was to create a believable teenage bedroom, focussing on high-quality assets with a variety of interesting textures. I tried to spend a lot of time on each asset, carefully thinking about why and where each piece of damage would occur. I wanted each asset to make sense, have its own story and fit perfectly inside the room.
I used this environment to become more familiar with lighting and rendering in Unreal Engine 4. One of my biggest goals was to achieve an interesting lighting setup with appropriate colours.
