VFX is an arduous and never-ending journey to greatness that I am so thrilled to be part of and Lost Boys has been instrumental in harnessing our creative juices into something beautiful and most importantly, profitable!

The dawn of a new Journey!

Character replacement

The moment I got this assignment I knew I had to reference such a special character and movie that paved the way for many incredible others, I still remember watching it the first time and being mesmerized by everything! This shot was challenging in reconstructing the background, keying, and most importantly, emoting Ruby Rhod enough!

Set extension

One of the most challenging and multidisciplinary projects I worked on, I had this vision of a mix between Tarantino with his opening scenes and The Martian and I really wanted the actor to walk from the plate into the set I designed, for that, I used Unreal, which allowed me complete control on the set design, weather and feel of the shot.

Ethereal Effects

One of my favorites, we had complete creative control, as a big fan of folk horrors and Celtic mythology I wanted to evoke this figure of Cernunnos, ready to return to this land and punish some folks! It was quite difficult to first paint the whole plate and make it feel darker and less daylight and also all the iterations to achieve the correct look I had in mind for the entity.

Screen Burn in

For this one, I wanted to reference Alien, one of my all-time favorites, so I envisioned David conducting his last experiments with Engineer DNA and finally achieving a higher form of evolution!
I pushed myself to change and reconstruct as much as I could from the original plate, creating transparent glass screens with refraction and the right texture, and building all the layers behind the screens as well.

Logo Replacement

Probably the one that tested me the most! I took the hardest and coolest plate I could find and tried to repaint all the logos on the plane! Tracking was very difficult and creating all the different panels with different light interactions was also very interesting. One may think I'm a sports buff, but I just liked the color scheme!
