A Dining Chair that revolves around the theme of “Designing for the New Normal" to help reduce the risk of diners spreading droplets that contain viruses to others.

The chair is designed to secure the staff and diner's health as some diners would take off their masks when they are seated. Other diners would have a horrible dining experience and felt insecure if they coughed or sneezed unintentionally.

Some restaurants would restrict families or couples to sit away from each other (people who are exposed to each other beforehand). This is unnecessary and should have aimed to secure the safety of the staff.

The preliminary design of the chair is based on a barrier fixture named "PLEX'EAT", by Christophe Gernigon. A lightweight and transparent XXL plexiglass visor that hangs from the ceiling. But it can be improved regarding cleaning blindspots, barrier coverage, risk of falling, and swinging freely.

To ensure the user's safety, the whole furniture piece is designed in an aerodynamic form, avoiding sharp edges. Moreover, the chair is mainly made out of hollowed stainless steel, polished plywood, and plexiglass as they can resist the corrosion of alkaline liquid (Sanitizer) and reduces the survivability of Covid-19.

It is generally inspired by the idea to provide user comfort and aesthetically pleasing to the eye of the user. Form ideas are generated from the curvilinear form of the human spine and the aerodynamic form of a fighter jet, including its mechanism in opening the door.

It is an electrical powered dining chair (unnecessary parts can be removed when not needed) and it can be controlled by the foot paddles on the side to switch on and off.

The electricity will be cut off as the capsule is flipped up (Air pipe disconnected).
