THE RHYTHM OF MOVEMENT
Since modern architecture embodies minimal and linear geometric structures, adding arched openings create a visual contrast, animating the interior design and structure as a whole. The main concept of repetitive and rhythm are applied to represent the client's embroidery work which mostly consists of feminine figures with a focus on their hair. The way she spins the unfinished green rhythm, which represents the hair into strands or locks of flowing hair that spills out of the frame.
Subtraction is used in the form of shapes like arches which are influenced by Sheena Liam's use of geometry. Arches are deconstructed to half-arch modular elements, clearly giving the building a modern image, represent subtraction on plain surfaces in terms of contrast, which also answer her static figures contrast the dynamic movement of each strand of hair.
