Adventure
An environmental concept art, all done in procreate. My goal was to study and practice my perspective and try a different style for this specific piece. I used big shapes to help me simplify the details and later render. The clouds made it a little painterly style and used some motion blur and glitch tools.
I wanted to work on my perspective with this piece, I decided to make an environmental piece since it's a great way to understand perspective viewpoints. I did all of this in procreate on my Ipad, I just did a normal painting. The two challenges I had, was the perspective of the lily pads and try not to do a painterly style. The lily pads were a bit of a struggle since I wasn’t sure if my perspective of lily pads were looking like they were on top of the water or seeing it as a viewer if it made someone look directly down at the lily pads. Now, the second was trying to not do a painterly style, I wanted to work differently than my usual routine, I used shapes in creating this piece, which I started with big shapes and from there rendered with more shapes (especially doing the water).
Here are some photos for this piece, from the beginning of how I started. I Like to do a rough sketch on my artworks instead of doing a clean line art. I love the messiness of the sketching. I have a habit of working with the colour blue and green values, I wanted to an uplifting feeling into my piece.
Here's a process video of how I work when working on a piece.
