Cold atmosphere in the trenches
Update - 25 Feb 2022
I was not satisfied with my 2 previous renderings so I went back to remove 1 bench and move the barrels that were not readable, I also removed the stretcher that attracted too much attention.
I reduced the Chromatic Aberration which was much too strong on the night image. And I changed my lights a bit, to have a more interesting shadow on the night image at the pointlight level. On the day image I accentuated shadow in post production at the pointlight.
I moved the camera forward a little to get more focus on the campfire
I could still argue about a lot of things, but I'm already happy with these 2 renders !

And here are my 2 final results! a lot of work! very happy to have participated in this challenge! I learned a lot of things but the road will be still long!

I finally finished my scene, I made a real battlefield...
I'm currently in Raytracing, it's so clean ! but quite unstable... It crashes from time to time...
I still have a lot of tweak to do on the Posts Process for the light and the atmosphere.

- More details and assets
- my scene is coming to life! I made the biggest asset level now it's going to be more small details for my frame. I must admit that if I had the time I would have made a whole battlefield ! but just this little trench takes me a lot of time !
Knowing that I extended my scene by adding assets that won't even be in my frame but anyway I dont care it's so much fun to do this environment!

- I have my place !
- Basic stuff for my place Added cliff, rock and wood for my tranches. I place my assets to try to recreate an atmosphere.
- This step takes a lot of time but is really fun to do !
- At this point I should have already placed my camera and set my assets accordingly. But since it's just a frame for the contest I'm doing it a bit differently.
I think it's fun to create a little game level and as a result I feel I can find a happy accident like in drawing which can create an interesting frame!

Step 02 :
- I tweak my terrain for tranches and shell hole
- added some dirt and wet soil
- added 1 cube for human scale ref
Now i need to find the right place for my camera !

- Basic Textures from world creator (some tweak later for better textures)
- Lighting/post-process/camera base setup ( tweaking at end)
- Stylised HDRI (I will probably change it at the end)

I have always wanted to make a small environment with a trench, I aim to find a harmony / atmosphere with the cold of winter.
