Demon's Souls x London: Londivium
This was a 2nd Year university team project at Escape Studios, where within a 15 week period we were assigned the task of creating a DLC Demo level for Demon’s Souls that matches both the setting and style of the game while also incorporating parts of London into the level itself.
The Brief
As a team composed of 10 artists, we were assigned the task of creating a DLC Demo level for Demon’s Souls that matches both the setting and style of the game while also incorporating parts of London into the level itself within a 15 week period.
This included a 3-week pre-production stage, where we researched different different locations in London and different areas we could incorporate into the project that would mesh well with the Demon's Souls style.
Over the course of the following 12 weeks, we created then created the project utilising the industry skills we have learned to bring the project up to the highest standard we could within the set time period.
During the project, there were milestones where we received feedback from Will Hurst (Advanced Environment Artist at Rocksteady Studios, Ltd.)
With the threat of demons rising rapidly, tremors and earthquakes arising in their wake, the people of Londivium had no choice but to defend themselves within the walls of their village.
The local market, once thriving with life and business, momentarily became a shelter to hide from the beasts of hell.
The village succumbed to the demand of the shaken earth as the destruction of the market came about, with the only remnants of scattered life are through lit torches and candles, suggesting people still use this once thriving building as security from the outside world.
