Elvin Fantasy Female Real-Time Character

I started this character a couple of months ago when I noticed the Rookie awards were going to be soon. She is a high elf character, that doesn't like to get too dirty and often is found with a book.

My first step after concept sketches is usually sculpting the face. This is the most important feature and determines so much of the design. Which I did in Maya, because I hadn't at this point used Zbrush yet. Then after creating her body, I imported her into Marvelous Designer for her fabrics. I enjoyed that I'm getting more comfortable with this program and her pants and cloak came together relatively quickly. Then she went back into Maya for her jewelry and retopology. Buy this time I was Introduced to Zbrush for classes at CG Spectrum and updated some of her items including her face and Jewelry.

After finishing the retypology, I took her into Substance Painter for the best step - texturing. I imagine that this is the best step for a lot of artist, when you can see the model progress more. I wanted to have custom textures and embroidery so I drew most of them out with a felt pen. These were scanned and processed to use as alphas.

Her hair cards were modeled in Maya, I wasn't able to find an automated way to create the cards, so this took some time, but I eventually was content with the results. The textures for these were created in Photoshop.

I hope you enjoy this entry!
