Victorinox Swiss Army Knife
A still rendering of the classic Victorinox Swiss Army Knife paired with its box and user guide.
This project was my third time creating a photorealistic hard surface model in Maya! For the texturing and lighting, I used Autodesk's Arnold renderer.
When lighting the scene, I utilized photography's standard three-point lighting technique.
For the table texture, I found a high-resolution wood image and created a normal map using Photoshop.
For the box's packaging design, I gathered a handful of source images and replicated a traditional box with Victorinox's logo along with a unique sticker that sits on the opening flap. I created the sticker and the additional text for the box in Adobe Illustrator.
For the instruction manual, I found an old Victorinox manual online and altered it in Photoshop to fit the piece's aesthetic. I overlayed the information on top of an image of crumpled paper to give the manual more depth. In addition, I created a normal map in Photoshop to give the piece that extra sense of realism.
To make the piece a bit more visually interesting and photorealistic, I added depth of field to the 35mm lens I used for the shot. Here is the end result!
