Drogon Creature Research
We challenged ourselves by replicating a marvellous creature like Drogon from Game of Thrones. For rigging, muscle sim, blend shapes, animation, shading, lighting and rendering we exclusively used Houdini 18.0 and Mantra Renderer.

We are studying Animation / Technical Directing at the Animationsinstitut & Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. We are planning on developing a creature for our upcoming diploma project. That's why we challenged ourselves by replicating a marvellous creature like Drogon from Game of Thrones. For rigging, muscle sim, blend shapes, animation, shading, lighting and rendering we exclusively used Houdini 18.0 and the included Mantra Renderer. This research project was important for us to gain a better understanding high end creature production workflows and maxed out the potential of Houdini.
