My 3D Environment journey

This is my natural progress in 3D environment. I always try to push my self on specifics and general aspects, trying to learn as much as I can from a workflow or a software and then move onto another, trying to be like a sponge, absorbing all I can from my colleagues and from many talented artists on the web

During pandemic, many things have changed in our world. Spending 3 months in house lockdown  gave me the chance of committing to these changes, by creating online courses for the new generations. One of these courses is about learning environment from scratch as a 3D Artist.

Since last Rookies Awards, I also had the chance of joining the most prestigious college of my country (tech-wise) in order to teach 3D environment design. Quite a challenge, for a coding course. The aim was to give coders an idea of the times invested in creating art, and learning about processes of art, so when on a gaming company they will understand much better the workflow and increase the synergy between art and coding departments.

Finally, I have embarked in really cool international project, working remotely with an insane group of high quality artists to create a AAA MMORPG. This gave me new ambitions towards learning multiple subjects, not just environment but tech-artist side. Still a long road, but I'm confident soon we will have cool things to show from environment department.

The next images show the environment my students will and have achieved upon completion of the course. It also contained some elements of Environment I wanted to push more of my own knowledge.

Here are some of my old game environments from year or more ago. I can see the natural progress and learning curve I have had. And the more I see them, the more I'm eager to learn. One of my next steps is going to be organic environments, to break of this synth-aesthetic I've been building up.

I hope you enjoyed watching my progress and my last environment. Have a nice day and stay safe!
