Poulocratie - A short movie made from March to April 2021
This was a 6 weeks group project themed around the french saying "On ne fait pas d'omelette sans casser des oeufs". The litteral translation would be "you cannot make an omelette without breaking any eggs". It means that in order to get something you have to accept to make some sacrifices.
We chose to create a world where omelettes are prohibited, and making one could be punished by death, according to our saying "on ne fait pas d'omelette"/"One shall not make an omelette", our protagonist Michel, feeling nostalgic of the old world gets his hands on an egg, at the cost of his life

We took inspiration from dystopic pieces of media, history and movies such as Equilibrium, Brazil, 1984....
The flyer in the ending shot is a law article stipulating : " One shall not make an omelette, it is punished by penalty of death"

The Chicken Police name "Poulice" is a pun with "Police" and "Poules"/"Chicken".
