This environment piece are a continuation to a previous short project I worked on in an earlier course last year.
This environment piece are a continuation to a previous short project I worked on in an earlier course last year. For this project I wanted to focus on modular assets to see how much I could optimize the assets. During the process I had to go through a lot of design changes to fit the composition I had in mind and I decided to add a lot more fun story element to give the scene some more depth.
The project spanned 6 weeks on half time 4/h a day. I used Maya for all the modelling and substance painter for most of the texturing along with substance designer to edit and create photo scanned material and finally rendered in Unreal engine 4. Decals and textures for hydrangeas and carnations by Quixel.
The first rough sketches for the houses along the street. I tried to get houses from different time periods. However due to composition and time restraints I had to deviate a bit from my initial sketch
