Some of 2020's work
I'm currently studying art and illustration through private mentorship. Here is some of my work from this year
Among Us Illustrations
I made these illustrations as part of the celebration of this very fun and silly game that I rather enjoy playing with my kids and family. I enjoy studying anatomy and classical figures, so the combination of classical painting with the monster imposter seemed like a fun choice.
Portraits
Just a couple of portraits from this year that I am fond of. Sadly the WIP files for these are no where to be found. The second image included a 3d mannequin created and posed in Blender to compose shadows quickly, a very handy technique.
DND: Bloodhunter
My sister asked me to make an illustration of her Bloodhunter Character in Dungeons and Dragons. The brief was "half-elf Blood Hunter who is part of the order of the ghostslayer and they have a double bladed scimitar and a crowbar and consistently carry a jar full of blood". From this madness thumbnails were drawn up and I let her make choices from things that I was happy with, that process seems to keep people very happy.
Art Station: Space Opera Concept art
These little aliens were made for the ArtStation competition this year. I was going for something that I felt would fit in with a mobile game. I rather enjoyed the outcome.
Blood Mox
This project was based around the idea of a prop illustration having a more appealing background. It came out rather well
Master Studies to Robots
This is a series of paintings that I am still working on. The idea was simple, take classical master studies and then turn them into surreal paintings with androids and robots instead. The process is focused on trying to mimic the style with very different surfaces and materials, the results being the sort of art that would go in the background of a video game. Very fun.
