Project Forward Scroller is a First-Person Platformer game, I wanted to explore an old idea I had for a game. The idea is best described as a side-scrolling platformer viewed from a first-person perspective. I wanted to keep the mechanics from old side-scrolling platform games, while also trying to maintain their atmosphere. The game world is in 3D, but you can only move in 2D.

This is mostly, so far at least, a solo project. I’ve made everything regarding game design, level design, programming, sound effects, and mockup graphics. The animations for the character are made by Nils Söderman, thanks for contributing with some great animations.

I started to work on the game in late 2018 for 10 weeks as my degree project at my school FutureGames. Since then I have continued to work on it in my spare time. The first milestone is to have a demo of one feature complete level done at the latest by the end of June.

The latest version of the game can be played at itch.io: https://tobias-nylin.itch.io/project-forward-scroller
