Baba Yaga´s Hut Inside Her Magic Fortress. Environment.

Baba Yaga, the witch from Russian fairy tales, lives in her chicken-legged hut, situated inside the Magic Fortress. The Fortress is formed by moving trees and guarded by the Snake and snake-like plants.

The Entrance to Baba Yaga's Magic Fortress.

 As any other fortress, Baba Yaga's Fortress is surrounded by the moat and is accessed through a drawbridge. The drawbridge is activated by snake-like plants, tangled among the trees.

Baba Yaga's chicken-legged hut.

My version of the legendary Baba Yaga´s chicken-legged hut.  

I tryed to design a bird-like house, with a head (the compass tower), the wings and the tail  (the terrace, decorated with animal sculls on the trees).

The Sad Baba Yaga Props.

Actually, it was my first approximation to the character of Baba Yaga. 

I tried to imagine her rather different from the classical character, placing her in contemporary times. Nobody needs her magical help, the world is dominated by science, and she is feeling abandoned and sad. 

Yet she is not as wild a witch as everyone thinks. She is a scientist too;  she designed her modern-looking stupa (her legendary transport made from a wooden mortar), sent her drawings to the Mercedes Benz factory, and it works! She also designed the secret parking place for it.

The Mad Gardener Props.

He is a retired doctor at his 60-s, singleton and perfectionist in his garden, and of course, very absent minded. He is obsessed with his dream to create an inteligent and emotional plant to be his friend.

So he has rearranged a very special greenhouse, equipped with all the necessary stuff to get to his dream. All his instruments are very old and are fixed using medical equipment. 

Also he has an extravagant manner consisting in labelling his plants with table spoons.

I am particularly proud of a shovel design with a saccharine box tied and used for sowing seeds.

The interior of the greenhouse. My Mad Gardener uses both garden and medical instruments to get to his dream. And looks like he is getting some results already!
