Méline Pischedda - Grooming Artist / CFX Entry
Hello fellow rookies, I'm finishing my studies at MoPA this year. While making my diploma film, I also did some personal projects in the last months to improve my grooming skills on different software. What a year! I had a lot of fun making these projects, I hope you will enjoy them!
GROOM / CFX SHOWREEL
Here is my latest showreel with the most recent projects. It's very grooming-oriented, but I also have some CFX shots from my graduation film. You can see the projects in detail just below! I hope you like it!
Inoubliable - Graduation Film
This is my graduation film, made with my great team: Gaëlle Renault, Cintia Sabater Vilchez, Marine Dieval and Alexandre Mougenot. We loved working on this project for about a year. We are very proud to show you the trailer until the full film is released!
To make you wait, please meet our characters. I was mainly in charge of the grooming and CFX of the film. I also did props modeling, texturing, and assembly.
PORTFOLIO
Rajah
This is Rajah, the tiger in the movie Aladdin! I made this project to improve my Yeti skills. I was inspired by Aaron Blaise's concept, of which I am a big fan! I really enjoyed doing it, it was a challenge and I learned a lot! It's also the first project of a feline trilogy, which I've loved doing.

Reverse Tiger
Here is another project inspired by the amazing Aaron Blaise! I thought his concept was really interesting, especially the color scheme and the shapes. I really enjoyed recreating the fur shape and playing with the light to give it a dark side! I had so much fun! This is the second project in the feline trilogy.

Hairfect King
A new project inspired by Aaron Blaise again, which is the last of the feline trilogy. I immediately loved his cocky look and his little smirk! I also wanted to work on the mane shape which I found very interesting. This was the most difficult of the three to groom, but I really had fun doing it.

The Beast
It was a team project with my friend Alexandre Mougenot who asked me to join the project to do the grooming part and I really enjoyed the challenge. Beauty and the Beast is a story that rocked my childhood. To imagine recreating such an iconic character was a very big challenge! Once again, this project is based on the incredible art of Aaron Blaise.

Gisaeng
A Gisaeng is a Korean Geisha. After many projects on animals, I wanted to improve on human characters as well. I am a big fan of South Korea and especially of the Joseon period. I was inspired by Ha Ji Won, in the drama Hwang Jin Yi for the hairstyle and the outfit. I challenged myself with this hairstyle and I really enjoyed modeling the clothes and getting those pleats to recreate a hanbok (traditional Korean women's clothing). I also loved creating the face shape, it was fun to try new things!

Hairstyle
This is my very first project in Houdini. After doing all the CFX on my graduation film shots, I got more and more used to Houdini and so I tried Grooming as well. Houdini is really a software that I loved and that I could see myself working on all the time, I feel like there are no limits! It was a great experience and I learned a lot!

Fox Head - WIP
This is a work in progress of the project I am currently working on. I'm doing it in Houdini to gain experience in the software and to try something more realistic. I still have a lot of work to do on it, but it's so much fun to learn new things and try to recreate a realistic fox.
