Space Ape, Allosaurus & Micro Knacker
This is my portfolio, created over the course of 14 weeks during my time at The Game Assembly. It was a tight schedule and a lot of overtime, and I'm very happy with them!
Space Ape
The intrepid SPACE APE! Executed over the course of 5 weeks. Based on my own concept.
I wanted a striking character with a bunch of different elements, like haircards, hard-surface, cloth and character sculpting. It was a challenge to fit so much in a pretty short timeframe, so I had every day scheduled and made sure to not break any deadlines.
Allosaurus
The Allosaurus was a 4 week project. It started with a more realistic design and bit by bit I took it towards an exaggerated look with a cool-factor more appropriate for games. I looked at allosaurus skeletons, paleoart, animatronics and dinosaur toys for ideas and reference.
Micro Knacker
The 3 week Knacker project was my shortest project. I could make headway very quickly because I had a finished concept to follow from the get-go. The primary focus of my other projects was to create appealing characters, so I wanted the final project to be more practical, getting into the nitty-gritty of asset creation. My target was a tight low-poly, efficient UV mapping and detailed texturing.
