Concept Development

This concept is inspired by the traditional Chinese Forbidden City, the Forbidden City, because in ancient times, the traditional roof was like a covering to protect the house and the people in the event of a disaster. Therefore, the lighting also needs to have an appearance to show its beauty. In order to have a better design, our design will replace ancient culture with modern design.

In the concept, it is formed by three design elements which is Contrast, Repetition and Overlapping. The structure of Chinese traditional roof is formed by a different sizes of the squares and rectangular shape to design. Besides, all the view where can see of the lighting design, which is using the overlapping design.

In conclusion, Contrast, Repetition and Overlap uses as a main structure of the lighting design, where the design to have a layering feel, robustness and modern style.
