Hello! I'm Carlos Velázquez, 3D artist from Spain. I've just finished the Character Modelling Master at Animum Creativity Advanced School so in this entry you will see some of my very first projects, including characters, props and environment.

This character is optimized for movies and ready to be rigged. It is the first one I did in Animum 3D.

I picked a fantasy character and tryied to achieve a level that could match in films like Maleficient or The Hobbit. It's was really challenging but I learnt a lot and I enjoyed every part of the process.

The sculpt was done in Zbrush, after that I used Maya for retopoly, UVs layout and Xgen. For texturing I used Mari and for rendering, after trying Keyshot I decided to use Marmoset.

THERMITE GRANADE AND FUSE


This is a prop project I've done for this entry and to try show my modelling and texturing skills.

Both were completly modelled in Maya and textured with Substance Painter.

ANA KAONA

The next one is a cartoon character, done at Animum 3D. I was looking for a Disney/Pixar style so I choose a great concept by Luigi Lucarelli.


As the Goblin, this Character was sculpted in Zbrush and then retopologized in Maya but for texturing I used Substance Painter instead of Mari.


SAMURAI REALTIME

The next character, was also done at Animum 3D, it is a realtime character done for games.

The main process is similar to the previous but in this one I used Marvelous Designer for the kimono and pants. It was a little challenging since I had to learn marvelous by myself but that's how you learn!


This time, as it is a character for games, I used hair cards instead of Xgen.


It was inspired in Faraz Shanyar's concept.


CAFE HOUSE

The next project is a house completely modelled and rendered in Maya. For texturing I used Substance painter.

I used Xgen for the thatched roof, it was the first time I use that tool.
