Sonic the Hedgehog Fan Art

The sketch above is based on pages from IDW's Sonic the Hedgehog Fallout Issue #2. Originally, these inserts take place on two different pages. However, I combined the bottom and top of these pages to recreate the comic as if it belonged on one page. I began drawing by first outlining the boxes with a ruler. Secondly, I drew the character outlines with a pencil. After that, I added color, letters, and any other finishing details. I'm really happy with how it came out, and a main feature I'm particularly proud of are the fingers.

This second sketch is based on a page in the Sonic Archie Comics. I drew on standard letter size paper and used colored pencils for the color. Interestingly, I never really drew Princess Sally before this, and I'm very proud of how well she came out. I also really love the background in this sketch.

Unlike the other two sketches in my entry, for which I drew what was in the comics, the above image is original fan art. This picture started as a drawing in a sketch pad(photo below).

The sketch(at the time), was one of the best I had drawn within the Sonic franchise, so again, I was very happy with my work. From there, I snapped a photo of it and traced it digitally in Autodesk Sketchbook. Color and shading were applied to the main subjects, Sonic and Amy(process view below). I drew in some additional things like background, table, lights, etc, and voila! Notice in the main sketch, there was a snowflake and a sign on the wall, but in the final art they were left out and substituted with lights.
