For this artwork I made every material and foliage in Zbrush and Designer. Everything is rendered realtime in Unreal Engine except for the materials presentations. I want to thank the teachers, classmates and friends who helped and gave me feedback along the way.
I made the moss material using nanomeshes and took different render passes in Zbrush. I then polished final details in Substance Designer. The tree bark material was sculpted in Zbrush for the height, normal and BaseColor. I polished a few details in Substance Designer afterwards. The leaf atlas was created in Zbrush to get a height, normal, AO and base color and finally Substance Designer for some final tweaks! I also took a lot of inspiration when it comes to the shape and style of the tree and foliage from Tyler Smith's work and at the same time creating something personal and in my own style.
