3D Environment and Death Stranding fan art
My name is Georg Shao, currently studying at SAE Veinna since one and a half year. During these times I found my passion in creating realistic props and Environments.
I chose 2 of my favourite artworks to enter this contest. Hope you guys like it : )
The goal of this project is to create a sci fi cabin of a space pirate. Since it was the first time for me to create an environment, I decided to limitate the space of the room and focused more on the design. Here are come concept designs I drew.
After that I started to create the meshes using the highpoly to lowpoly workflow. Since they all have similar materials, I created smart materials from the first 2 textured assets and apply them on other meshes in order to speed up my workflow. I also sculpted some organic models for the collection containers in my environment. At the end I imported the models in unreal engine 4 and made some tweaks and lighting.
And here is a fan art of death stranding I created. For this asset I tried a new method of creating highpoly meshes instead of sub-d highpoly modeling. I learned this workflow from an amazing tutorial of Simon Fuchs. Here is his artstation: https://www.artstation.com/simonfuchs
In this tutorial he created the highpoly models using the polish function in zbrush, which was quite new for me. So I decided to give it a try. After the baking and texturing process, I rendered this asset in marmoset and used rocks from Megascans to add some final touch.
